1.5 kW VFD: when this rating is the right choice
A 1.5 kW VFD is selected for a 1.5 kW electric motor when the motor rated current does not exceed the drive current rating. This is a common size for small pumps, fans, conveyors, mixers, packaging equipment, and light machine drives.
Before selecting a drive, check not only the power but also the motor voltage, number of phases, duty cycle, and load type. A standard 1.5 kW VFD is usually enough for a simple pump or fan, while heavy starting loads may require extra current reserve.
220 V or 380 V
If only a single-phase supply is available, choose a 220 V input model for a compatible three-phase 220 V motor. For an industrial supply, choose a 3-phase 380 V VFD. A voltage mismatch is one of the most common selection mistakes.

- Pumps — soft start, pressure control, sensor input, and PID control.
- Fans — capacity control and energy savings.
- Conveyors — smooth acceleration, gentle stopping, and line speed adjustment.
- Mixers and small mechanisms — stable speed and motor protection.
