Delta DVP/AS PLCs: which series we pick for which job
Delta is our most-shipped PLC brand. We hold 255 SKUs on the shelf, from a micro DVP14SS2 with 14 I/O up to a modular AS300 with 1024 I/O. Typical customer: an engineer at a mid-size production site (pasta line, doser, bottling line, water treatment, biomass boiler room) who needs a controller for the cabinet but Siemens S7-1200 is already over budget. Delta DVP fills roughly the same niche but 1.5-2x cheaper, with a free ISPSoft IDE (no TIA Portal license cost).
Supports Modbus RTU/TCP, Ethernet/IP, CANopen — the standard kit. Programming in ISPSoft (FBD/LD/SFC/IL/ST), plus COMMGR for network setup and CANopen Builder for CAN configuration. One catch: the ISPSoft UI is English-only, no Ukrainian localization. The upside: with the same ISPSoft and shared tag pool you simultaneously configure both an HMI Delta DOP and a Delta ASDA servo drive. Single-vendor ecosystem, the reason we like Delta.
DVP or AS: which platform we pick
For simple cabinets with 14-32 I/O and no hard speed requirements we ship DVP-SS2 (24 VDC) or DVP-EC3 (220 VAC, no separate PSU needed). Budget pick, but enough for a conveyor, doser, basic alarm panel. For 16+ I/O with PID loops (boiler room, for example), Ethernet networking, we put in DVP32EH00T3 (DVP-EH3) — that is our workhorse for real-world jobs. For positioning and fast encoder counting there is DVP20SX211R (SX2) with dual RS-485.
When DVP runs out of headroom (200+ I/O, multi-axis, complex Ethernet/IP network), we move to the modular AS-300, e.g. AS332T-A. AS is a newer architecture with 128K program steps and built-in Ethernet on the CPU. What we ask before quoting. First: how many I/O and which types (DI/DO/AI/AO, do you need PT100). Second: cabinet supply (24 DC or direct 220). Third: output type (R relays for AC loads, T transistors for PWM and fast drives). Delivery from our Kyiv warehouse in 1-2 days via Nova Poshta.
