Universal Robots cobots (UR) in Ukraine
Universal Robots is a Danish maker of collaborative robots (cobots) that work next to people without a fence once a risk assessment is done. Unlike a classic industrial robot, a UR cobot is light, quick to reprogram and stops on contact. The Chastotnik.ua catalogue lists the UR range: models from UR3e to UR20 and UR30, with a payload of roughly 3-30 kg and a reach of 500-1750 mm. Supplied to order; the price is available on request on the product page.
A cobot is one branch of a larger topic: see also the general collaborative robots page and the industrial robots section. If the task needs more force and reach than a cobot offers, compare with the classic manipulators FANUC, ABB and KUKA.
e-Series and UR Series: models and payload
The current range is the e-Series (UR3e, UR5e, UR10e, UR16e) plus the heavier UR20 and UR30. The higher the index, the greater the payload and reach. Below are guideline figures; see the model datasheet for exact values.
| Model | Payload | Reach | Typical use |
|---|---|---|---|
| UR3e | 3 kg | 500 mm | Small assembly, screwdriving, benchtop operations. |
| UR5e | 5 kg | 850 mm | Machine tending, testing, light handling. |
| UR10e | 12.5 kg | 1300 mm | Palletizing, packaging, machine tending. |
| UR16e | 16 kg | 900 mm | Handling of heavier parts, machine tending. |
| UR20 / UR30 | 20 / 30 kg | 1750 / 1300 mm | Palletizing, heavier assembly, welding. |
Where UR cobots are used
The most common tasks are palletizing, machine tending (load and unload), packaging, assembly, screwdriving, and arc or spot welding with the right torch. A cobot pays off where batches are small and change often: changeover takes minutes, not days. A fence is usually not needed, but the final decision comes from the risk assessment of the specific cell and tool (a sharp gripper or torch may call for extra measures).
