4 kW VFD: what motor do we ship it for
Our customers buy 4 kW units mostly for asynchronous 4 kW 380 V motors with Imax around 8.5-9 A. Typical use this year: machine tools, crushers, supply ventilation fans, conveyors. If the motor is rated at 5.5 A (220 V version), that is a different story; for it we ship a single-phase 220 V VFD, not this one.
First question we ask at the shop: what load. For a fan or pump (quadratic characteristic) the basic V/f series is enough. For a crusher or compressor with shock-load start we ship models that hold 150% overload for 60 seconds (HD mode). Veichi AC10-T3-4R0G-B holds 150% min per datasheet; INVT GD20-004G-4 the same number. For cranes and hoists we ship vector VFDs with encoder feedback, not these.
Which model we ship in 9 out of 10 cases
Three SKUs run through stock most often at 4 kW. Veichi AC10-T3-4R0G-B (budget, V/f, in Kyiv every day) for machine tools, pumps, fans. INVT GD20-004G-4 (mid-tier, scalar + simple sensorless vector) for conveyors and light compressors. Schneider ATV310HD11N4E when the customer asks for a European brand on the same job. Mitsubishi FR-D740-036SC-EC and Delta VFD055E43A we ship to order; not in daily stock. Please check availability before paying.
What else we ask before ordering. First: single-phase 220 V input or three-phase 380 V? 4 kW from a single 220 V phase is at the edge. We do keep these (Veichi AC10-S2-4R0G), but we recommend checking the breaker and cable. Second: does the kit include a braking resistor, because a high-inertia crusher without dynamic braking will trip on OU (overvoltage) at stop. 2-year warranty on all brands above, 1-3 day delivery from our Kyiv warehouse via Nova Poshta.
