Mitsubishi FR-D, FR-E, FR-A: a Japanese top-tier we ship regularly
Mitsubishi is steadily our second or third brand by volume among premium Japanese and European drives. Over the past 12 months the bestseller is FR-D740-036SC-EC at 1.5 kW (13 units shipped). Customers mostly use it to replace old Soviet-era drives on machine tools and small process equipment. The single-phase FR-D720S moves much slower: a typical year is 5-7 units.
Four FR series cover the full range. FR-D up to 7.5 kW (compact, machine tools). FR-E up to 15 kW (general purpose with sensorless vector). FR-A up to 55 kW (Real Sensorless Vector plus CC-Link, for cranes). FR-F up to 315 kW (pumps and fans at high power). One caveat: spare parts for legacy FR-A540 and FR-E520 are end-of-life. If you are repairing one, ask us — sometimes we source B-stock from decommissioned panels.

FR-D — Compact General-Purpose Series
9 models, 0.75–7.5 kW. Compact drive for small tasks: machine tools, conveyors, and small mechanisation. Easy installation and commissioning.
FR-E — General-Purpose Series for Medium Power
11 models, 0.75–15 kW. Sensorless vector control, Modbus RTU. General industrial applications: pumps, fans, and conveyors up to 15 kW.
FR-A — High-Performance Series with Advanced Functions
14 models, 0.75–55 kW. Real Sensorless Vector Control, Encoder Feedback, CC-Link. For cranes, lifts, and complex production equipment.
FR-F — High-Power Pump and Fan Series
55 models, 0.75–315 kW. Specialised for pump and fan applications: automatic energy saving, built-in PID, pump cascade control, and Ethernet. The largest series in the catalogue by model count.
