Hybrid Inverter 10 kW

10 kW hybrid inverter: when we install it and when 8 kW is enough

We typically install a 10 kW hybrid inverter in large homes 180-250 m². Our customers this year run a two-storey house with a heat pump rated 8-10 kW. Plus a couple of AC units. Plus a water heater. Sometimes a 7 kW EV charger. If you have no heat pump and no EV plans, an 8 kW unit is sometimes enough: cheaper, smaller footprint. The 10 kW peaks at 20 kW briefly. It holds simultaneous compressor starts without voltage sag.

How it works: when the grid is up, we draw from it in parallel. Surplus from PV panels goes into the battery or back to the grid (if you have Net Metering). Grid drops: the unit transfers to battery in 10-20 ms, then re-engages solar. No interruption. One caveat: a 10 kW inverter wants a 12-15 kW PV array to generate properly. 6-7 kW of panels will not load it correctly.

Single-phase or three-phase: what we install most often

Single-phase 220 V on a large house: rare but it happens. We pick Veichi SISV-10.2K-H(TWIN) with MPPT 60-450 V and 98% efficiency. Goes well in our shop for cottages with an older single-phase service. Alternative: Deye SUN-10K-SG04LP3-EU. Three-phase 380 V for 180+ m² houses: this is the main segment. Veichi VHT-10K-25-H with MPPT 200-950 V (from the manufacturer datasheet), high-voltage 750 V battery, IP65 for outdoor mounting. If you plan a 14-18 kW PV array on the roof, we ship VHT-10K-40-H: the 40 A charge current will keep up.

What we ask before placing the order. First: are you planning an EV or a heat pump in the next 2-3 years. If yes, better to leave headroom and look at the 12 kW unit. Second: what service the house has, three-phase 380 or single-phase 220. Third: what the panel array will look like, this drives the MPPT tracker count. Warranty 2-5 years, delivery from our Kyiv warehouse in 1-3 days.

For single-phase 220V grids, the most popular model is the Veichi SISV-10.2K-H(TWIN) (23 units sold in 12 months) thanks to its 98% efficiency and wide MPPT range starting from 60V. For three-phase installations, we recommend the Veichi VHT-10K-40-H with IP65 protection and 40 A charge current.

10 kW Hybrid Inverter Manufacturers

Our catalogue features two brands with real sales and service support in Ukraine:

  • Veichi — Chinese manufacturer based in Changsha, SI series (residential single-phase) and VH series (industrial three-phase with IP65). 3 models at 10 kW, efficiency up to 98.4%.
  • Deye — leading hybrid inverter manufacturer, SUN series. Model SUN-10K-SG04LP3-EU with extended MPPT up to 850V and 210 A charge current.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which 10 kW hybrid inverter should I choose?

For a three-phase 380 V supply take the Deye SUN-10K-SG04LP3-EU — 48 V low-voltage battery, two MPPT, parallel scaling. For a high-voltage battery — Veichi VHT-10K-25-H or VHT-10K-40-H. 10 kW is the power for a full 200+ m² house running air conditioners, a water heater and pumps at once. First confirm a three-phase supply on site.

Is 10 kW single-phase or three-phase?

The 10 kW hybrids in stock are three-phase, 380 V (Deye SUN-10K-SG04LP3-EU, Veichi VHT-10K). A single-phase inverter of this power only makes sense on sites with a single-phase supply of the matching rating, which is rare at 10 kW. For a typical house with a three-phase supply, a three-phase model is the right choice.

How many panels for a 10 kW inverter?

A 10 kW hybrid takes a 10–13 kW array — about 20–26 panels of 500 W. The maximum PV power on the Deye SUN-10K-SG04LP3-EU is up to 13 kW, two MPPT inputs, 150–550 V range. Oversizing panels over the inverter by 20–30 % is normal to offset losses.

How long will a 10 kW inverter run on battery?

Runtime is set by battery capacity, not the inverter itself. With a ~15–20 kWh battery a 10 kW inverter backs a house for 4–8 hours depending on load. For long autonomy with heavy loads people build up to 20–30 kWh of batteries — inverters in this class support several battery modules in parallel.

How much does a 10 kW hybrid inverter cost?

The three-phase Deye SUN-10K-SG04LP3-EU starts at about UAH 90,700. High-voltage Veichi VHT-10K models — from UAH 159,300. A full kit with panels and battery costs more; a manager will price the exact system for your consumption profile. Prices are current at the time of enquiry.
