How we pick a VFD for your motor: 4 numbers off the nameplate
"VFD for a motor" orders close in 5 minutes if the customer sends us a nameplate photo. We look at four fields. One: rated current in amps (this matters most; the kW number on the plate can be off by 10%). Two: voltage (220 V or 380 V, 1 or 3 phases). Three: rated frequency (50 Hz is our default, imports sometimes run 60 Hz). Four: motor type (asynchronous AC, permanent-magnet synchronous PMSM, synchronous reluctance). Most requests are regular asynchronous: that goes to Veichi AC10, INVT GD20, Delta VFD-E.
Which VFD goes with which motor
Small asynchronous 0.4-2.2 kW from single-phase 220 V: Veichi AC10-S2 or INVT GD20-S. Standard 380 V three-phase 0.75-22 kW: the same AC10/GD20 line, then Delta VFD-E when the customer already runs Delta. Heavy industrial 22-630 kW: Veichi AC310, INVT GD200A, Schneider ATV310/930. PMSM motors (new high-efficiency pumps) need FOC vector with a PG card: we take INVT GD350A or Delta C2000. Mitsubishi FR-D if the customer already runs a Japanese automation fleet and does not want to mix brands.
We also ask: load type (pump or fan means ND mode and V/f; conveyor or compressor means HD mode and possibly vector), whether there is an EMC filter on site or you want one in the kit, and whether the drive will run from a diesel generator. Warranty 12-24 months, shipping from Kyiv in 1-3 days.
