Deye 6 kW is the most common hybrid inverter rating for a private house. Two models are in stock, and the choice between them is decided by supply type rather than power: SUN-6K-SG05LP1-EU for a 220 V single-phase grid, and SUN-6K-SG04LP3-EU for a 380 V three-phase supply. A single-phase inverter cannot be fitted to a three-phase supply or vice versa — without a phase match the protection will not permit grid synchronisation.

Both are low-voltage units running on a 48 V battery (51.2 V LiFePO4 nominal). The panel array can reach 7.8 kW, up to 130% of the inverter rating: 11–14 panels at 550 W, or 14–18 at 430 W. Oversizing the array is standard practice — it offsets losses from heat, soiling and off-perpendicular sun angles. The string limit comes from the MPPT voltage window: combined Voc at −10 °C must stay below the maximum DC voltage.

6 kW covers a refrigerator, lighting, a pump station, a boiler and general appliances running together. What needs separate calculation is equipment with high inrush current: a borehole pump on direct-on-line starting, a welder, an electric hob. For motors, size against inrush current, which runs 3–7 times the rated figure.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which Deye 6 kW model should I choose — SG05LP1 or SG04LP3?

By the site supply type. SUN-6K-SG05LP1-EU is for a 220 V single-phase grid, which covers most private houses. SUN-6K-SG04LP3-EU is for a 380 V three-phase supply; choose it if the site already runs three-phase loads such as a borehole pump, machine tool or compressor. Moving a three-phase motor onto a single phase costs you starting torque.

How many panels can a Deye 6 kW inverter take?

An array up to 7.8 kW — 11–14 panels at 550 W, or 14–18 at 430 W. The precise count is set by the MPPT voltage window rather than total wattage: panels in a string are wired in series, and combined open-circuit voltage Voc at −10 °C must stay below the inverter's maximum DC voltage. Split the array across both MPPT inputs if the roof planes face different directions.

Which battery does a Deye 6 kW need?

A low-voltage 48 V LiFePO4 pack (51.2 V nominal). The practical range is 5–10 kWh: 5 kWh covers essential overnight loads, 10 kWh supports a full household. From our range, Felicity LPBA48100-OL and LPBF48200-H work, as do the Veichi VCLB models. Connect the CAN or RS485 bus so the inverter reads true state of charge instead of estimating it from voltage.

Does a Deye 6 kW work without solar panels?

Yes — an inverter with a battery acts as a large UPS and carries the house through outages, recharging from the grid. But without panels there is no payback: the system only shifts grid energy in time. Panels are what turn backup power into savings.

Can two Deye 6 kW units run in parallel?

Yes — parallel operation is supported and provides redundancy: if one inverter fails, the site is not left entirely without supply. The requirements are identical models and firmware versions, a shared communication bus, and correct master/slave configuration. Mixing different models or brands within one cluster is not possible.
