When Veichi HMI Makes Sense and When to Pick Schneider or Delta Instead
Veichi is the budget branch of Chinese operator panels we mostly ship paired with same-series VFDs (Veichi VFD) or where the customer is trimming capex. Our typical buyer this year: a small packaging machine, a pump group, or a retrofit of an old machine tool where SCADA is not needed but a 7-inch touch on the cabinet door is. Bestseller is VI20-070S-FE (7", Ethernet, RS232/485). We keep it in stock at our Kyiv warehouse.
Panels run on the free VI20/VI30 HMI Studio software (Modbus RTU/TCP, FINS, Mitsubishi MC, Siemens PPI). Firmware over USB or Ethernet. One caveat: customers used to Vijeo Designer or DOPSoft need half a day to adapt. If the project is already on the Schneider Modicon stack we point them to Magelis, not Veichi.
VI20 or VI30: Which Series We Pick for Which Job
VI20 is the upper line with IoT (WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, optional 4G), ARM Cortex-A7 up to 1 GHz, up to 128 MB DDR3. We use it for remote monitoring (greenhouses, pump stations without SCADA) and when Full HD on 15.6" is needed. VI30 ships where Ethernet is not really important: 4.3" and 7" models for local machine pulpits, boiler rooms, dosing stations. Three things we ask before placing an order. First: which PLC or VFD the panel will poll, drives the protocol. Second: how many tags need monitoring (determines RAM). Third: whether the panel mounts away from the cabinet (then the Ethernet cable is a separate item).
