ATV650D37N4E: Schneider Electric Altivar 650 variable frequency drive rated at 37 kW (3-phase 380 V input, 3-phase 380 V output). We use it for an industrial pump, fan, or compressor package when the project needs Altivar diagnostics and a predictable automation path.

• Parameters: 74,5 A output current, IP55, 110-130% overload, maximum frequency 500 Hz.
• What matters: This is the pump/fan side of Altivar Process; IP55 helps when the drive is mounted closer to the machine, but the environment still needs review.
• Check before use: IP55 does not remove the need for cooling: do not block the heatsink or mount the drive in a hot pocket.

Altivar 650 is an IP55 Altivar Process ATV600 version for pumps, fans, and compressors close to the machine. Our catalog currently has 28 active items in this series: 0.7-75 kW, supply variants 3-phase 380 V, IP55 enclosures, EMC filter: yes. Schneider Electric is not the cheapest route. The usual reason is simpler: Altivar diagnostics, SoMove, documentation, and a predictable cabinet startup.

• Selection: first check motor current, load duty, supply voltage, IP rating, and motor cable length.

When Altivar 650 is not the right drive

We do not recommend Altivar 650 for a clean control cabinet where IP21 ATV630 is cheaper and more compact. In those jobs, another Schneider Electric series may be more logical, or INVT / Veichi may be enough when the project does not specifically require Altivar.

Our field note

Schneider Electric is usually chosen for sites with BMS, SCADA, or an older Altivar already in the cabinet. Predictability matters there. Before ordering we ask for a motor nameplate photo and a short mechanism description. That filters out 220/380 V, IP, and braking mistakes early.
