FR-A740-01160-EC is a Mitsubishi Electric FR-A variable frequency drive rated at 45 kW (3-phase 380 V input, 3-phase 380 V output). We use it for a heavy conveyor, extruder, or machine-tool drive when the project needs Mitsubishi hardware, clear diagnostics, and 150% overload headroom.

When FR-A is not the right drive

We do not recommend FR-A for a basic pump or fan where FR-F or INVT GD20 is the more sensible spend. In those cases INVT or Veichi is often enough, and pump projects should also start from VFDs for pumps.

Our field note

Customers rarely buy Mitsubishi by accident. It is usually a FREQROL replacement, a cabinet with MELSEC/GOT, or a production line where downtime costs more than the price difference. Before payment we ask for a motor nameplate photo and a cabinet diagram. Fewer surprises at startup.
