FR-D720S-042SC-EC is a Mitsubishi Electric FR-D variable frequency drive rated at 0.7 kW (1-phase 220 V input, 3-phase 220 V output). We use it for a workshop, gate, or small pump running from 220 V when the project needs Mitsubishi hardware, clear diagnostics, and 150% overload headroom.

• What matters: Here the brake module is listed as built in, with RS-485 and basic PID.
• Check before use: Important: from a 220 V single-phase input it gives a 220 V three-phase output, not 380 V. The motor must be wired in delta.

When FR-D is not the right drive

We do not recommend FR-D for a complex positioning line or a drive above 7.5 kW. In those cases INVT or Veichi is often enough, and pump projects should also start from VFDs for pumps.

Customers rarely buy Mitsubishi by accident. It is usually a FREQROL replacement, a cabinet with MELSEC/GOT, or a production line where downtime costs more than the price difference. Before payment we ask for a motor nameplate photo and a cabinet diagram. Fewer surprises at startup.
