How to Choose a 90 kW VFD
Key parameters to evaluate when selecting a 90 kW drive:
- Load duty cycle: for pumps and fans (variable torque), normal duty 110–120% overload is sufficient; for compressors, hoists and conveyors (constant torque), heavy duty HD — 150% overload is required. Note G (general / constant torque) and P (pump / variable torque) suffixes in model names.
- Control mode: scalar V/f is adequate for fans and pumps; sensorless vector (SVC) suits conveyors and mixers; closed-loop vector (FVC) with encoder is needed for cranes, hoists and precision drives.
