VFD900CP43A-21 — Delta VFD-CP2000 rated at 90 kW, 3-phase 380V supply, 180 A rated current. A variable-torque drive for pumps and fans with about 120% overload and HVAC firmware — intelligent PID, sleep/wake modes and a built-in 10,000-step PLC. Works as the lead drive of an up-to-8-pump cascade — no separate controller needed.

Typical applications:

• Main municipal or sewage pump-station pump
• Large exhaust / smoke-extraction fan
• Boiler-room or industrial pump/fan

At these ratings CP2000 needs its own cabinet section and ventilation — IP20 is meant for mounting inside a pump-station or HVAC enclosure.

Note: it speaks Modbus RS-485 and BACnet MS/TP out of the box (BMS integration with no gateway); the braking unit is external (optional add-on). Max output frequency is 400 Hz. This is the 3-phase 380V class — there is no single-phase variant.

Delta VFD-CP2000 — a drive built for pumps, fans and HVAC

CP2000 is Delta's dedicated fan-and-pump line. If the job sounds like "hold the pressure", "push air through an AHU" or "run a pump cascade", this is the one. Unlike the general-purpose C2000 (heavy 150–200% starting for cranes and machine tools), CP2000 targets variable-torque loads with roughly 120% overload and HVAC-specific firmware. In our range this is the 460V class (3-phase 380V), from 0.7 to 160 kW.

What CP2000 is for

• Water-boosting pump cascade: one CP2000 synchronously drives a group of up to 8 motors with rotation — no separate cascade controller needed.
• Supply/exhaust ventilation (AHU): malls, office buildings, boiler rooms — intelligent PID holds pressure/temperature, sleep/wake modes idle on low demand.
• Cooling towers and chiller circulation pumps: smooth flow control and energy savings at part load.
• Smoke extraction: built-in fire mode keeps the fan running during a fire alarm.

What sets CP2000 apart

Our practical take: for a pump or fan, CP2000 fits better and costs less than C2000, because you don't need a heavy 200% start. The two features people buy it for in buildings are the built-in BACnet MS/TP (talks to Metasys/Delta Controls BMS with no gateway) and the ready 8-pump cascade.

Control and communication

CP2000 drives both induction and PM motors: V/F (4-point and square curve) and SVC (sensorless vector). Out of the box it speaks Modbus RS-485 and BACnet MS/TP; optional cards add PROFIBUS DP (CMC-PD01), CANopen (CMC-COP01), DeviceNet, Modbus TCP and EtherNet/IP. The braking module is built in up to 37 kW; from 45 kW an external (optional) braking unit is used. IP20 enclosure, LCD keypad, conformal-coated boards, CE/UL/cUL/EAC.

When CP2000 is NOT the right pick

• Heavy start or constant torque (cranes, crushers, extruders) — see Delta C2000 or Veichi AC310 in G mode.
• Single-phase 220V supply — this line is 3-phase 380V only; for 1-phase jobs use Veichi AC10.
• Simple boosting without BMS integration and on a tight budget — Veichi AC310 covers it for less.

Our experience with CP2000

It mostly goes into mall HVAC and municipal water pump stations — places that value the built-in BACnet and cascade. The two questions we hear most: "will it run a cascade without a controller" (yes, up to 8 pumps) and "how is it different from C2000" (CP2000 is variable-torque for pumps/fans, C2000 is heavy general-purpose). Supply is steady, and we cover the whole 460V class up to 160 kW.
