Vector VS VDN: when we ship the Ukrainian brand instead of pure Chinese

Vector VS is a Ukrainian VFD brand for the industrial market. Our catalogue carries 31 models of the VDN series rated 0.75 to 37 kW, with 1×220 V or 3×380 V inputs, in IP20 or IP66 enclosures. Typical customer for us on Vector VS: a small plant or water-supply project where the customer prefers a Ukrainian brand (fast response from our side, signed local documents, warranty replacement without waiting for China), plus the IP66 version for wet or dusty environments.

We keep popular ratings 1.5/2.2/4/5.5/7.5/11 kW in stock. Delivery across Ukraine in 1-3 days. 24-month manufacturer warranty. Before the order we ask: mains (220 or 380 V), installation (cabinet or wet site), bidirectional load (braking module needed).

About Vector VS and Their Frequency Inverters

VDN: General-Purpose Industrial Series

31 SKUs: power range 0.75-37 kW, 1×220 V and 3×380 V inputs, IP20 or IP66 enclosure. Suitable for pumps and fans, conveyors, hoisting equipment. We carry models with a built-in braking module (suffix -C) for mechanisms with variable loads.

What to Consider When Choosing a Frequency Inverter

For simple pump or fan systems with single-phase 220 V supply: we ship VDN-1P3U2 or VDN-1P1U2. For three-phase industrial sites: VDN-3P3U3. If the equipment sits in a wet or dusty environment: VDN in IP66 rating (suffix -FP6). For compressors and mechanisms with high starting loads: models with a built-in braking module (suffix -C).

Frequently Asked Questions

What are frequency inverters?

Power drives that control induction-motor speed by varying supply frequency and voltage. Instead of one nameplate speed you get any speed in the working range plus a controlled ramp up and down. Vector VS is a Ukrainian brand; we stock 31 models of the VDN series at 0.75-37 kW, with a 1×220 or 3×380 V input, in IP20 and IP66 housings. Prices from UAH 13,400 with VAT.

What does a frequency inverter do?

Three things at once. It sets the motor speed you need rather than the single mains speed. It ramps up and down over a set time, so there is no inrush current at start and no jolt through the mechanics. And it protects the motor: current-based thermal protection, overload trip, phase-loss monitoring. Some VDN models carry a built-in braking module (the -C code) for mechanisms that brake often under load.

Which frequency inverter converts 380 to 220 V?

A drive will not make 380 from 220, that is physics: a single-phase input gives 3×220 V out. VDN has five single-phase models, at 0.75-2.2 kW. There is a wrinkle here that other brands do not have: VDN-1P3U2 delivers three 220 V phases to the motor, while VDN-1P1U2 has a single-phase 220 V output. For a 380/220 V three-phase motor take the 1P3U2 and switch the windings to delta.

How does a frequency converter work?

In three stages. The input rectifier turns mains AC into DC, the capacitor link smooths it, and the output IGBTs use PWM to form three-phase AC at the frequency you want. Motor speed follows that frequency while the drive maintains the U/f ratio itself so the magnetic flux stays within limits. VDN implements scalar and sensorless vector control. That is why the series works on pumps, conveyors and hoists alike.

How do I set up a frequency inverter?

The sequence is standard, and VDN is no exception. Start by entering motor nameplate data: power, voltage, current, frequency and speed. Then the thermal protection current so the drive trips on overload, then acceleration and deceleration times to suit your mechanics, and only at the end the run command source plus the frequency reference source: terminals, keypad or Modbus RTU. Take exact parameter numbers from the manual on the model page. Ask us about specific wiring.

Which converter goes from one phase to three?

That is the VDN-1P3U2. Single-phase 220 V in, three-phase 220 V out to the motor; available at 0.75, 1.5 and 2.2 kW, and the 1.5 kW version also comes with a built-in braking module. This is the drive people fit on sites with no three-phase supply: borehole pumps, small machine tools, ventilation in private housing. The motor has to be switched to delta if its nameplate carries the 380/220 V pair.
