Delta VFD015CB21A-21 is a compact VFD-C200 series frequency inverter rated 1.5 kW. Supply is single-phase 220 V, with a three-phase 220 V output to the induction motor — the go-to solution when the site only has single-phase mains but the motor is three-phase (up to ~1.5 kW).

It supports V/f and sensorless vector (SVC) control, has a built-in 5,000-step PLC and a built-in brake chopper (only an external braking resistor is needed). Communication is Modbus RTU over RS-485 plus CANopen (DS402). Maximum output frequency is 600 Hz, enclosure IP20.

Field tip: on a single-phase input the mains current is noticeably higher than the motor current, so size the breaker and supply cable to the input current, not to the motor power. For a modern replacement, look at the Veichi AC10 in the same class.

The VFD-C200 is Delta's compact "mini" vector drive that packs the functionality of larger families into a small footprint. The headline feature that makes engineers reach for the C200 is its built-in PLC with 5,000 program steps. For a simple machine (a doser, a winder, a conveyor that starts and stops on a sensor) you often don't need a separate controller — the logic lives inside the drive.

What the C200 actually does

• Control modes: V/f, V/f with encoder (V/f+PG), sensorless vector (SVC) for induction motors, plus open-loop control of PM motors. This is not a full closed-loop FOC with continuous feedback — for tight positioning Delta points to higher series, but for 95% of pumps, fans and conveyors SVC is more than enough.
• Built-in brake chopper across the whole power range of the series — no extra braking module is required, only an external braking resistor sized to the braking torque.
• Communication: built-in RS-485 Modbus RTU plus a dedicated CANopen port (DS402, slave). CANopen is already built in (RJ-45 port) — no plug-in PROFIBUS or CANopen card is offered for the C200.
• High-speed I/O: two pulse inputs (MI7, MI8) and two outputs (DFM1, DFM2) up to 33 kHz — handy for synchronisation and basic positioning.

Range and supply

The series covers low power ratings in three voltage classes: single-phase 200–240 V, three-phase 200–240 V and three-phase 380–480 V. The output is always three-phase to the motor. Maximum output frequency is 600 Hz. Enclosure rating is IP20 (the -21 build). Reinforced board coating (IEC 60721-3-3 class 3C2) and a dust-resistant design make it suitable for dusty workshops — textiles, woodworking, packaging.

Status and alternatives

The C200 has been discontinued by Delta; its current in-house replacement is the MS300. If you're specifying a new compact drive with onboard logic for similar duties, look at our Veichi AC10 and AC310 series — they cover the typical C200 applications. If instead you need repair or a like-for-like replacement of an existing C200, confirm the part number — the voltage-class code (CB21 = single-phase 230 V, CB43 = three-phase 460 V) is critical when matching units.
