LS SV008iC5-1F is a Starvert iC5 frequency inverter rated at 0.7 kW with a built-in EMC filter (the "F" suffix in the part number). Input is single-phase 220 V (200–230 V), output is three-phase 220 V (200–230 V) to the motor; rated current about 5 A. The built-in filter cuts conducted mains noise — handy near sensitive electronics or where EMC compliance is required. Control is V/F / sensorless vector (H40), frequency up to 400 Hz in V/F (300 Hz in vector), overload 150 % for 60 s, with PID and multi-step speeds.

Braking is DC-injection only; the iC5 has no built-in braking transistor, so high-inertia masses need an external unit. If you do not need the filter, the cheaper SV008iC5-1 is available. A modern compact replacement is the Veichi AC10.

LS Starvert SV-iC5 — the smallest, lowest-cost Starvert drive for simple machinery on single-phase 220 V

The SV-iC5 is the compact entry-level drive from Korea's LS (LSIS / LS Electric, formerly LG Industrial Systems) — the junior member of the Starvert family. We stock six single-phase models: 0.7, 1.5 and 2.2 kW, each in a plain version (part number ending in "-1") and with a built-in EMC filter ("-1F"). It works exactly the way this series is bought for: single-phase 200–230 V input, three-phase 200–230 V output to the motor. A standard three-phase induction motor runs from an ordinary single-phase 220 V supply, with no three-phase mains needed.

What this drive is and where it fits

• V/F plus sensorless vector control: parameter H40 selects either scalar V/F (linear, squared, user V/F) or sensorless vector for better low-speed torque. There is no closed-loop encoder feedback and no built-in PLC — it is a simple drive, and for a pump, fan or conveyor that is plenty.
• Output frequency 0–400 Hz in V/F mode. In sensorless vector the manufacturer caps the maximum at 300 Hz — a normal trait of the series, worth noting if you size high-speed spindles.
• Overload 150 % for 60 s — typical for a general-purpose drive.
• Features: PID control, Up-Down, 3-wire control, multi-step speeds, DC-injection braking.

Braking and EMC — check by part number

One important point we verified against the iC5 manual: the iC5 power terminal block carries only L1, L2, P, P1, N, U, V, W — there are no B1/B2 braking-resistor terminals and no built-in braking transistor (chopper). Braking is implemented only as DC injection at stop. For high-inertia or regenerative loads the manufacturer explicitly recommends an external dynamic-braking unit. Do not specify the iC5 where frequent fast braking of large masses is required.

The EMC filter is read straight from the part number: the F suffix means a built-in filter, so "-1F" models have a built-in EMC filter and "-1" models do not. RS-485 / Modbus RTU on the iC5 is an option card, not a built-in function; CANopen, Profibus and EtherCAT are not supported.

Honest take and modern equivalents

The iC5 is a legacy line (its Starvert successors are the iG5A, then the G100/M100 generation). We supply it as a like-for-like replacement in existing cabinets — same compact body, same parameter logic.
