Delta DRP (CliQ) — DIN-rail switching power supplies with active PFC for automation cabinets

DRP is Delta Electronics' CliQ-family line of industrial power supplies designed to mount inside a control panel on a standard 35 mm DIN rail. Its defining feature among the brand's other series is active power factor correction (PFC) in every model. In practice this means the unit doesn't draw the mains in sharp current spikes, loads the phase evenly, and plays well with UPS units, generators and protective circuit breakers. The power range is wide — from 30 to 960 W — so a single series covers everything from a small sensor up to a full I/O panel.

By output voltage, DRP spans the three working levels of industrial automation: 12 V (30, 60 and 100 W models), 24 V (from compact 48 W up to a powerful 960 W) and 48 V (480 W). The 24 V line is the core one: most PLCs, relays, sensors, pneumatic valves and HMI panels run on 24 V DC. The input is universal — 85–264 VAC for single-phase models — so the unit works from 220 V and from a sagging mains alike, with no reconfiguration. For demanding installations the series also includes three-phase models with a 340–550 V input (the 3B index in the part code); these are chosen where the load needs to be spread evenly across three phases and fed directly from the cabinet's line voltage.

Every model in the series carries an IP20 enclosure rating and is intended for installation inside a closed electrical cabinet — in a dust-protected, dry environment. This is the standard choice for machine building and panel shops, not for open outdoor mounting.

How DRP differs from other Delta supplies

• DRP (CliQ) vs DRL (Lyte): DRL is the budget DIN-rail line without active PFC, for simple tasks where power factor doesn't matter. DRP adds PFC plus a wider choice of power ratings and three-phase models — the working class for serious automation.
• DRP vs DRM (CliQ-M): DRM is the higher line with PFC and high power ratings (up to 960 W at 24 V), aimed at the heaviest applications. DRP spans the whole range from 30 W, which makes it more versatile for a typical panel.
• DRP vs PMC/PMT: the PM series mount on a panel or as an enclosed chassis, whereas DRP is a purely DIN-rail solution for fast cabinet assembly.

Pay attention to the suffix in the part code: models marked CliQ II (e.g. DRP024V240W1BA) are an updated generation of the platform within the same series. Single-phase models carry index "1" in the code, three-phase carry "3"; that character defines the supply type, so when selecting, check the full part code, not just power and voltage.

Our experience with Delta DRP

DRP is one of those supplies we recommend when a customer wants a fit-and-forget unit: active PFC removes any doubt about compatibility with UPS and breakers, and the DIN-rail housing saves assembly time. The most common request is to size a 24 V model precisely to the combined draw of the controller, sensors and actuators, with a 20–30% margin. If your cabinet already has a three-phase input, it makes sense to choose a three-phase model so you don't overload a single phase.
