R912005106 — Bosch Rexroth VFC 5610 rated 15 kW, three-phase 380 V supply, rated current 32.4 A, vector/SVC/V/f, up to 400 Hz. This model is part of the single VFC 5610 lineup, the simplified asynchronous-motor sibling of EFC 5610.

Bosch Rexroth VFC 5610 — vector frequency inverter for machinery

VFC 5610 is the stripped-down, lower-cost sibling of the EFC 5610 series. They share parameter structure, dimensions and most functions, but VFC deliberately drops a few things: no built-in mains EMC filter, no synchronous-motor control and no built-in STO. In return you get a solid vector drive for asynchronous motors at a noticeably lower price. Control modes are scalar V/f, sensorless vector (SVC) and open-loop vector with roughly a 1:200 speed range. Single-phase 200–240 V covers 0.4–2.2 kW; three-phase 380–480 V covers the rest of the lineup.

Where VFC 5610 fits

• Machine tools and CNC: lathes, grinders, drills, boring machines — where you need steady speed and torque from low frequencies.
• Extruders, mixers, pelletizers: plastics and rubber, where shaft speed must stay even under load.
• Conveyors, packaging and labeling machines: food and printing industries.
• Pumps and fans: sleep mode, energy saving and a soft ramp instead of direct-on-line starting.

How VFC 5610 differs from EFC 5610

The rule of thumb: choose VFC 5610 when the motor is asynchronous, you do not need built-in STO functional safety, and you handle EMC with an external filter. If you need built-in C3, synchronous-motor control or STO, step up to EFC 5610.

Braking and EMC — two points people mix up

An integrated brake chopper is fitted only up to 22 kW. From 5.5 kW the DC-bus terminals are available for an external brake resistor, but on models above 22 kW the braking unit is NOT built in — you must add it separately if your duty involves frequent braking (centrifuges, cranes, cyclic stops). The VFC 5610 has no mains EMC filter by default — it is an option. Budget an external filter if the site requires conducted-emissions compliance.

When VFC 5610 is NOT the right pick

• You need a C3 EMC filter out of the box — look at EFC 5610 or add an external filter.
• Synchronous/PM motor or STO SIL3 — that is EFC 5610.
• Above 22 kW with frequent braking — budget an external braking module and resistor.

Our experience with VFC 5610

Most VFC 5610 enquiries are replacements on machine tools and packaging lines that already ran Rexroth. The two recurring questions are braking and EMC, and the answer is the same every time: the chopper is inside up to 22 kW, external above that; the filter is external either way.
