ACS180-04S-12A6-4 is a 5.5 kW ABB drive, three-phase 3×380 V supply, 12.6 A. A rating for heavier pumps, fans and conveyors in industrial machines.

ABB ACS180 — compact machinery drive for serial-built machines

• Single-phase supply: the "1" variants run from a 1-phase 230 V mains and deliver a 3-phase output — handy where only a single domestic phase is available but the motor is three-phase (up to 3 kW).

How the ACS180 compares

Honestly: on motor control the ACS180 and budget Veichi drives in this class are close. You pay for the ABB name, embedded SIL3-rated STO, long support and service. If the machine is simple and the budget is tight, Veichi AC10/AC01 will cover the same job for less.

When the ACS180 is NOT the right choice

• You need closed-loop encoder feedback, high dynamics, or PROFINET/EtherCAT — go to ABB ACS380/ACS580 or a drive with a PG card. The ACS180 is sensorless and Modbus-RTU-centric.
• Power above 22 kW — out of the series range; see larger drives.
• A very simple single machine on a tight budget — consider Veichi AC10/AC01.
