Danfoss FC51 and VLT FC301: a Danish brand for tenders and high-responsibility sites

Danfoss sells through us mostly into high-responsibility projects: water utilities, boiler-house heating, food processing. Top movers over the past 12 months were 132F0026 Micro Drive FC51 at 4 kW (4 units), 132F0020 at 1.5 kW (4 units), and 132F0018 at 0.75 kW (3 units). All from the entry-level FC51 family: the cheapest credible Danfoss. We ship the premium VLT FC301 and FC302 less frequently and mostly to order.

The catalogue covers 8 series. Budget: Micro Drive FC51 up to 22 kW. Classic: VLT 2800 and VLT FC301 up to 75 kW. Industrial flagship: VLT FC302 up to 500 kW (with the proprietary VVC+ vector engine). Water-sector lines: FC-101 and FC-102 with built-in cascade controller, plus VLT FC202 AQUA with dry-run protection. One important note: VLT 2800 is end-of-life, but we still keep repair boards on the shelf. Ask us if your site runs that exact series.

Danfoss VLT VFD Series

Key Advantages

Micro Drive FC51 — Compact Budget Series

17 models, 0.37–22 kW. Entry-level Danfoss drive for basic tasks: pumps, fans, conveyors. Simple interface, standard communication protocols.

VLT 2800 — Classic General-Purpose Series

16 models, 0.37–18.5 kW. Time-tested drive with a wide installation base. Suitable for machine tools, conveyors, and material handling equipment.

VLT FC301 — Pump and Fan Series

26 models, 0.25–75 kW. Optimised for pump and fan Q/H characteristics: auto-tuning, built-in PID. Water supply and HVAC systems.

VLT FC302 — Flagship Industrial Series

62 models, 0.25–500 kW. Open-loop and closed-loop vector control, DTC, 160% overload. For cranes, lifts, extruders, and marine systems.

FC-101 — Pump and Ventilation Series

54 models, 0.25–90 kW. Specialisation: water supply and wastewater. Built-in cascade controller, Ethernet, Profibus.

FC-102 — Medium and High Power Pump Series

21 models, 1.1–315 kW. Pumps and fans in industrial and municipal facilities. Modbus TCP, Profibus DP.

ic2 — Next-Generation Compact Series

14 models, 0.37–22 kW. Modern compact design for simple OEM applications and built-in pump and fan functions.

VLT FC202 AQUA — Water Utility Series

15 models, 0.25–55 kW. Designed for water supply and wastewater treatment: dry-run protection and multi-pump control.

Which Danfoss Series to Choose?

Budget drive for pump or fan up to 22 kW — FC51. Pumping station or HVAC system — VLT FC301 or FC-101. Crane, lift, or heavy equipment up to 500 kW — VLT FC302. Large pump with network control — FC-102.

Popular Series

When selecting equipment, consider overload capacity, integrated EMC filtering, and industrial protocol support.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who manufactures Danfoss?

Danfoss A/S, a Danish company with its main plant in Nordborg, founded in 1933. Its drive division is Danfoss Drives, which is where the VLT badge on the housings comes from. We stock 232 models across eight series, priced from UAH 10,400 with VAT. Warranty is 24 months. Our Danfoss buyers are mostly tenders and critical sites that need a European brand named in the paperwork.

How does a frequency inverter work?

Mains voltage is rectified to DC, the DC link is smoothed by capacitors, and the output IGBTs chop it back into three-phase AC at the required frequency. Motor speed moves with that frequency. A VLT measures the motor itself through the AMA routine and then holds either U/f or sensorless vector control. FC202 AQUA adds cascade control of several pumps, and FC302 carries the full positioning and synchronisation set.

Which frequency inverter converts 380 to 220 V?

A drive cannot lift 220 to 380. A single-phase 220 V input yields 3×220 V, and no VLT series is an exception. We hold 11 such Danfoss units, Micro Drive FC51, ic2 and VLT 2800 in the 0.75-3.7 kW band. A 380 V three-phase motor runs from them if the nameplate shows the 380/220 V Y/Δ pair and you move the windings to delta. Motors from 4 kW up are usually wound for 380/660 V and need a three-phase input.

Which converter turns 1 phase into 3 phases?

A variable frequency drive with a single-phase input. It takes one 220 V phase plus neutral and delivers three phases to the motor, which is exactly why it goes onto sites with no three-phase supply. In stock we have Danfoss FC51, ic2 and VLT 2800 in single-phase versions up to 3.7 kW. Output voltage is 220 V, so the motor must be switched to delta. Size the incoming breaker generously: single-phase current is roughly three times the three-phase figure for the same power.

Which converter changes 12 V to 220 V?

That is not a drive but an automotive or off-grid DC-AC inverter, and we do not carry those. A variable frequency drive runs from a 220 or 380 V mains supply and controls a motor; it will not start from a 12 V battery. If the task is off-grid supply from batteries, look at our hybrid and solar inverters instead: they work from 48 V upwards and deliver a full 230 V output.

Which converter changes three phases into one phase?

No such drive exists. Not in our catalogue and not at Danfoss: every VLT with a three-phase input has a three-phase motor output, and none of them offers a single-phase 230 V output. To feed a single-phase load from a three-phase supply you take one phase with neutral or fit a transformer. And for a capacitor-run single-phase motor a drive is the wrong tool altogether. There you need a three-phase motor or a purpose-built drive.
