AuCom EMX4e soft starter: display and bypass, 7.5-280 kW
The EMX4e is AuCom's mid range, with a full display. Current runs 24 to 580 A, power 7.5-280 kW at 400 V, and we stock 17 positions. Supply is 200-525 V, wider than the CSX, which helps on sites where the incoming voltage is not exactly what the drawings promised. The bypass is built into the whole series. So the cabinet barely warms up after acceleration, and no extra fan is needed in the panel.
We pick the EMX4e when the CSXi runs out of current but the top EMX4i would be overkill. The display is not decoration. commissioning goes faster because parameters are visible, with no counting of switch positions. Typical duties are pumping stations, ventilation plant and mid-power conveyors, which is exactly the segment where the CSXi hits its current ceiling but paying for the flagship buys nothing useful. If you need adaptive start control or SCADA communication, look at the EMX4i. A cheaper option without a display is the CSXi.
What we ask before quoting
Nameplate current, load type, starts per hour, cabinet temperature. A centrifugal pump and a loaded conveyor need different sizing even at identical kilowatts, because breakaway torque differs by a wide margin. Above 40 °C in the enclosure derating applies. A line breaker and line contactor are needed regardless of series.
