Panasonic Announces New Minas A6 Series Servodrives
Panasonic has announced the release of a new generation of servodrives, which can now provide a feedback polling frequency of up to 3.2 kHz. This significantly reduces the response time of the entire servo system. Among the new products are series of servomotors equipped with 23-bit encoders that feature smaller dimensions (30% less) and weight (10% less) compared to their predecessors.
Advantages of the New Drives
The Minas A6 series servodrives support a full-duplex communication system with a speed of 100 Mbps called RTEX (real-time express mode). This allows for reduced communication delays to 0.0625 ms, which is 25% less compared to 0.083 ms of the previous A5 generation. Additionally, the maximum pulse frequency has been increased from 400 Mp/s to 4 Gp/s.
The RTEX system allows servodrives to easily interact with host controllers using Cat5e cables of up to 100 meters in length, simplifying connection. The ring topology allows for the connection of up to 32 slave drives.
Technical Specifications and Improvements
The new A6 drives have received an updated base structure and new enclosures. The high-inertia drive with a power of 200 W, 675 mm wide, weighs only 760 grams, which is 20% lighter than the previous A5 generation. For models with up to 400 W of power, the maximum operational speed of the servodrive has increased to 6500 revolutions per minute (30% faster than in A5), and for versions up to 1 kW, the maximum torque now stands at 350% (16% more than in the previous generation).
Enhanced Accuracy and Protection
The new compact 23-bit encoders provide eight times better accuracy compared to the old 20-bit sensors used in the previous generation. This improvement has led to more precise position control and a reduction of disturbances by approximately 20%. Triple lip seals provide enhanced protection against dust and oil ingress.
Compatibility and Consultation
The new servodrives utilize the same cables, connectors, and flanges as the old A5 series, allowing for quick and efficient replacement of old models. For assistance in selecting a replacement for your drive, we recommend consulting with specialists.
