SIMATIC S7-300 — modular controllers for industrial automation

SIMATIC S7-300 is Siemens classic modular PLC platform with 30+ years in industrial use. The Siemens PLC catalog lists 94 models: CPUs, I/O modules, communication processors and power supplies. Compatible with STEP 7 and TIA Portal, up to 32 modules per rack.

Is a braking resistor needed for a 30 kW VFD?

For mechanisms with frequent braking (cranes, elevators) a braking resistor is mandatory. For pumps and fans it is not needed — the built-in braking module is sufficient.

What is the difference between budget and premium 30 kW VFDs?

Budget models from 45 199 UAH are suitable for simple tasks (pumps, fans). Premium brands provide extended protection, redundancy, and automatic load adaptation.
