Frequency Converters in Ukraine 2026: Market Overview, Prices, Tips

Market of frequency converters in Ukraine in 2026

If you type "frequency converter" into Google, dozens of brands will appear: ABB, Siemens, Danfoss, Delta, INVT, Veichi, Schneider Electric, Mitsubishi, Lenze, WEG. But the reality is different: not all of them are currently available in Ukrainian warehouses.

Premium brands (ABB ACS580, Siemens G120, Danfoss FC302) are officially supplied, but with limited stock in warehouses, and prices are 40–80% higher than Chinese counterparts. This is normal for large tender projects. For small businesses that need a frequency converter to replace a broken one, this is unacceptable.

In this article, we consider 10 series that are actually available in warehouses in Ukraine, with prices, characteristics, and honest advice — which frequency converter to choose for which task.

The difference between them is not in the country of production, but in price, level of support, certification, and software.

Simple tasks — pumps and ventilation

For a pump or fan, you don't need vector mode or EtherCAT. Basic V/f control and a built-in PID controller are sufficient. Any modern frequency converter can do this.

Which series are suitable:

  • Veichi AC01 — from 5,612 UAH (0.4–7.5 kW). The most budget-friendly option in our catalog. Minimalist, but with PID and Modbus RTU.
  • Veichi AC10 — from 6,264 UAH (0.7–22 kW). Extended power range, V/f + vector control. Suitable for pumping stations and ventilation systems.
  • Delta VFD-EL — from 6,827 UAH (0.7–3.7 kW). Compact, time-tested. Extensive knowledge base and documentation.
  • INVT GD20 — from 6,099 UAH (0.7–110 kW). Huge power range in one series. For simple tasks, choose younger models — they compete in price with AC01.

Schneider Altivar 12 — from 10,599 UAH (0.7–2.2 kW). European brand, but limited to 2.2 kW power. If Schneider is specifically needed — this is the entry-level.

Honest advice: if you only need a frequency converter for a pump or fan — take the cheapest one available in stock. The difference between them for simple tasks is minimal.

Medium tasks — conveyors, compressors, extruders

When the motor operates with sudden load (conveyor with products, compressor, extruder) — vector control mode is required. It provides full torque at low speeds and stable operation under variable load.

Additionally, for these tasks, the following are needed: overload capacity of 150–180% for 60 seconds, Modbus RTU communication for automation, analog and digital inputs/outputs.

Recommended series:

Veichi AC310 — from 8,700 UAH (0.7–400 kW). Veichi's flagship: sensorless vector control, 180%/60s overload, built-in PLC, Modbus RTU. Tested on compressors and conveyors.

Delta VFD-E — from 9,418 UAH (0.7–22 kW). Delta's mid-range: vector mode, high overload, good documentation in Ukrainian.

INVT GD20 — from 8,349 UAH for 3×380V (0.7–110 kW). Older GD20 models support full vector control. Optimal in terms of price/features ratio.

Schneider Altivar 310 — from 12,653 UAH (0.7–11 kW). If European certification and Schneider Electric support are needed — this is the best choice for the mid-range.

Complex tasks — CNC, cranes, tenders

For CNC machines, crane equipment, elevators, and industrial tender projects, a different level is required. Important here are: Safe Torque Off (STO), industrial buses (EtherCAT, PROFINET), CE/UL certification, and the ability to work with high power.

Series for complex tasks:

Delta MS300 — from 13,801 UAH (1.5–22 kW). Integrated STO (Safe Torque Off), EtherCAT support. Geared towards automation with Delta PLC AS series.

INVT GD200A — from 12,599 UAH (0.7–500 kW). For cranes, elevators, and large drives. Up to 500 kW in one drive. Built-in braking chopper, encoder support.

Schneider Altivar 310 — CE-certification, integration with the Schneider ecosystem. For tender projects where a European brand is required in the documentation.

If the project requires ABB, Siemens, or Danfoss — that's also normal. Just factor in a larger budget and delivery times. For internal projects where you are not tied to a specific brand — Delta MS300 and INVT GD200A cover 90% of complex tasks.

Operation from a generator

One of the most common questions: which frequency converter works from a generator? Answer: any. A frequency converter rectifies the incoming AC voltage, filters it on the DC bus, and generates a new one with the desired frequency. It doesn't care whether the input is a 50 Hz mains or a generator with a floating frequency of 47–53 Hz.

The main advantage is soft start from a generator. Without a frequency converter, the motor consumes 5–7 nominal currents at startup. With a frequency converter — smooth acceleration, starting current does not exceed the nominal.

Our proven series for working with a generator:

SeriesPowerPrice fromPower supply
Veichi AC100.7 – 22 kW6,264 UAH1×220V / 3×380V
Veichi AC010.7–7.5 kW5,612 UAH1×220V / 3×380V
Delta VFD-EL0.7 – 3.7 kW6,827 UAH1×220V / 3×380V
INVT GD200.7 – 110 kW6,099 UAH1×220V / 3×380V

Recommendation: the generator's power should be at least 2 times greater than the motor's power. For example, for a 7.5 kW motor, a generator of 15 kVA or more is needed. More details — in our setup instructions.

How cheap and expensive frequency converters differ

The difference between a frequency converter for 5,600 UAH and one for 13,000 UAH is not "better/worse." It's a different set of functions for different tasks.

Frequently asked questions

Which frequency converter is the best?

The best one doesn't exist. There's the right one for your task. For a pump — an AC01 for 5,600 UAH will work the same as a Siemens for 25,000 UAH. For a CNC machine, an MS300 or GD200A is needed. The task determines the choice.

Does a frequency converter work from a generator?

Yes, any. A frequency converter rectifies the input voltage and generates a new one. The floating frequency of the generator (47–53 Hz) does not affect operation. The main thing is that the generator's power must be 2+ times greater than the motor's power.

Why are frequency converter prices so different?

The price difference is a difference in functions: control mode (scalar vs. vector), overload capacity, presence of STO, industrial buses, certification. For simple tasks, there's no point in overpaying.

Delta, INVT or Veichi — who is better?

Delta — the largest database of documentation and service centers in Ukraine. INVT — the widest range of powers (up to 500 kW). Veichi — the best price/functionality ratio in the budget and mid-range segments. Each brand has its niche.

Can one brand of frequency converter be replaced with another?

In 90% of cases — yes. If the power, supply voltage, and load type match — the replacement is direct. The difference will be in the settings menu and parameter numbering, but the basic principle is the same.

Conclusion

There is no "best" frequency converter — there is the right one for a specific task. A pump in a dacha and a crane installation in production require different equipment and different budgets.

Simple selection algorithm:

  • Pump, fan, generator → take the cheapest one in stock (AC01, VFD-EL, GD20).
  • Conveyor, compressor, extruder → vector mode is needed (AC310, VFD-E, GD20, ATV310).
  • CNC, crane, tender → STO, industrial buses, certification (MS300, GD200A).
  • All 10 series are available in stock in Kyiv. Go to catalog →
