Schneider Electric power supplies for automation cabinets

Schneider Electric units are used in control cabinets when the panel needs stable DC power for Modicon PLCs, HMI panels, sensors, relays and contactor coils. The Chastotnik.ua catalogue groups them into three families: compact modular ABLM, the 24 V workhorse ABL2 (Easy Modicon) and the higher-power Phaseo ABLSU. Outputs are 5, 12, 24 and 48 V, with 100-240 V input for single-phase models and 380-500 V for three-phase units.

If you need the whole section rather than one brand, see industrial power supplies. This page focuses on Schneider: how the series differ, where the input is single-phase and where three-phase, and how much power to choose for the real load of the panel.

Which Schneider series to choose

SeriesCatalogue rangeInput / mountingWhen to use
ABLM10-60 W, 5/12/24 V1-phase, DIN-railCompact power for sensors, relays, a small PLC and 5-24 V auxiliary circuits.
ABL236-351 W, 24 V1-phase, DIN-railThe 24 V workhorse for control cabinets: PLCs, I/O modules, contactors.
ABLSU (ABLS1A)50-480 W, 12/24/48 V1-phase, DIN-railPhaseo with a wider voltage range and current headroom for busy panels.
ABLSU (ABLU3A)120-960 W, 24/48 V3-phase 380-500 V, DIN-railFor sites with a three-phase supply that need high power with balanced phases.

Example 24 V models

24 V is the standard for industrial automation. Count not only the PLC but also contactor coils, I/O modules, relays and sensors, and keep current headroom. Below are catalogue reference points, without tying them to price.

What to check before ordering

First, the input type. With a single-phase 220 V supply, choose ABLM, ABL2 or the single-phase ABLS1A. With a three-phase 380-500 V supply and a need for high power, look at the three-phase ABLU3A, which loads the phases evenly. Second, the output voltage: 24 V for automation, 12 V for auxiliary circuits, 48 V for longer lines. Third, the current: do not load a unit to its limit without headroom, especially with coils and inrush loads.

Fourth, the mounting: every series here is DIN-rail, so it sits in the panel next to the breakers. To compare with another brand, open Mean Well power supplies or Delta. If you are unsure about headroom and input type, send us the list of loads in the cabinet and we will calculate the current and suggest a Schneider series without paying for spare watts.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I size a Schneider 24 V power supply?

Add up the current of the PLC, HMI, I/O modules, relays and coils, then keep headroom. For a small node ABLM1A24025 (2.5 A) fits, for a Modicon PLC with peripherals ABL2REM24045K (4.5 A), for a busy cabinet ABL2REM24085K (8.3 A) or ABLS1A24100E (10 A).

How do the ABLM, ABL2 and ABLSU series differ?

ABLM are compact modular units of 10-60 W for sensors and auxiliary circuits. ABL2 (Easy Modicon) are 24 V workhorses of 36-351 W for control cabinets. ABLSU (Phaseo) is the higher-power line of 50-960 W with a wider voltage set and three-phase models.

Does Schneider have power supplies with a three-phase 380 V input?

Yes. In the ABLSU series these are the ABLU3A models with a 380-500 V input and 24 or 48 V output, from 120 to 960 W. They are used where the site has a three-phase supply and needs high power with balanced phases.

Are Schneider supplies suitable for Modicon PLCs and HMI?

Yes, the ABL2 Easy Modicon line was made for 24 V Schneider automation. Size by the full load: controller, I/O modules, relays, HMI, sensors. A small system needs 36-108 W, a busy one 200-351 W.

ABLM or ABL2 for automation?

ABLM when you need compact power for sensors, relays or a small node (10-60 W, with 5 and 12 V outputs). ABL2 when it is the main 24 V for a cabinet with a PLC and peripherals (36-351 W). Mixed loads often use both.

Schneider or Mean Well for an automation cabinet?

Schneider is convenient when the system already has Modicon and HMI of the same brand, which simplifies warranty and compatibility. Mean Well is a universal choice. To compare by series, open the Mean Well power supplies page or send us the load list and we will choose without tying it to a brand.
