Kinco MT6x00 operator panels — graphic HMI terminals with Ethernet and CAN

The Kinco MT6x00 series is a range of graphic touchscreen operator panels (HMI) designed for industrial automation. The panels feature colour TFT displays with a 65,536-colour depth and come equipped with a full set of communication ports: RS232, RS422, RS485 and Ethernet. Every model supports Modbus RTU/TCP and TCP/IP protocols, enabling flexible connectivity with PLCs from various manufacturers.

The series covers three form factors — from compact 5.6-inch terminals for small control panels to 10.4-inch displays for supervisory stations. Each size is available with an optional CAN bus for integration into CANopen networks.

MT6x00 series technical specifications

All models in the series share a common architecture and differ in screen size and resolution:

  • Display type: TFT, colour, 65,536 colours, touchscreen control
  • Communication interfaces: RS232, RS422, RS485, Ethernet (3 ports)
  • Protocols: Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, TCP/IP
  • USB: 2 host ports + 1 client (for project download)
  • Audio: built-in audio interface for audible alarms
  • Programming: HMIware software (free)

Applications

Kinco MT6x00 panels are used to build human-machine interfaces across a range of automation systems:

  • Machine building: CNC machine control, press and packaging line operation. The compact MT6300C and MT6300T models mount directly into control cabinet doors
  • Water supply and HVAC: pump station visualisation, pressure trending, alarm management. Ethernet connectivity enables data transfer to upper-level SCADA systems
  • Conveyor systems: speed monitoring, product counting, motor diagnostics via Modbus communication with variable frequency drives
  • Transport and mobile machinery: CAN bus models (MT6300C-CAN, MT6403T-CAN, MT6500T-CAN) are designed for mobile machines and vehicles with CANopen networks

Other Kinco panel series

In addition to the MT6x00, Kinco manufactures two more operator panel series available in our catalogue:

  • MT4x00 — an economy series with screen sizes from 3.5 to 15 inches and a basic port set. 24 models for budget projects
  • MT5x20 — an enhanced series with an improved processor and increased memory. 28 models with 4.3–15 inch screens

Warranty and support

All Kinco MT6x00 panels are supplied with the manufacturer’s warranty. Our company provides technical support for connection, protocol configuration and HMIware project programming. We help select the optimal model for your specific application — contact us for a consultation.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between an HMI panel and a PLC?

A PLC runs the automation logic, while the HMI shows the machine state and sends operator commands to the controller or VFD. If you need I/O and control logic, use a PLC. If you need a screen with buttons, alarms and setpoints, use an HMI.

Which HMI screen size should I choose for a control cabinet?

For a simple machine, 4.3-5.7 inches is usually enough. A 7-inch panel works well for pump stations, ventilation and small machines. Choose 10.1 inches or larger when the operator needs trends, recipes, alarm logs or several mimic screens.

Does an operator panel need Ethernet?

Ethernet is useful for Modbus TCP/IP, several controllers, remote service or connection to the plant network. If the panel is next to one VFD and communicates over RS-485, Modbus RTU is often enough.

Can an HMI be connected directly to a VFD?

Yes, if the VFD supports Modbus RTU or Modbus TCP and the register map is available. For Veichi drives we often check VI20 or VI30 panels because they fit Veichi-based control cabinets well.

What information is needed to replace an old operator panel?

Send the old panel part number, cutout size, supply voltage, port type, protocol and the project file if it is available. Without the project file, the screen project often has to be rebuilt.

Can you select an HMI for a specific PLC?

Yes. Send the PLC or VFD model, required screen size and communication method. We will check the ports and suggest the series that fits the project best.
