Control System for the Asynchronous Motor of a Dry Yeast Mixer

In June 2015, specialists from LLC "PROFDRIVE" successfully implemented a control system designed for monitoring the asynchronous motor of a dry yeast mixer. This system provides smooth acceleration and reverse of the motor in both manual and automatic mode according to the technological algorithm.

Design and Components of the System

The system was developed based on a cabinet and control panel produced by Schneider Electric. The control elements are placed on the cabinet doors and panel, and a convenient power switch handle is located on the sidewall. This ensures maximum protection of the cabinet from dust, as the protection degree conforms to the IP54 standard.

To control the asynchronous motor of the mixer, the Vacon 10 frequency converter is used. The control of additional equipment is implemented through an intelligent relay by Siemens – LOGO!

Advantages of Implementing the System

The implementation of this system significantly increased the productivity of the process and allowed reducing mechanical wear of the equipment. Thanks to the use of frequency converter, the mixer starts and reverses without shock loads, which, in turn, greatly extends the lifespan of the system’s mechanical components.
