Frequency converters in water supply systems of country houses

The use of frequency converters and voltage regulators in water supply systems outside urban areas allows for the efficient provision of drinking water to modern homes in cottage villages, even if they are connected to central water supply.

Structure of Automated Water Supply Systems

Automated water supply systems mainly consist of several key components:

  • 1) Monitoring and control systems, which include elements that form a CAN network:
  • frequency converter (FC);
  • multichannel intelligent voltage regulator (MIVR);
  • control microcontroller;
  • remote control panel.

The MIVR is necessary for effective management, distributing tasks to controllers responsible for input and output information on the control panel, which operates thanks to a WI-FI wireless network. The remote control panel, operating through a web interface, allows for the control of processes over the Internet, with the option of mobility. A standard tablet computer with a WI-FI module can be used as a panel.

This system has useful modes that allow owners to reduce their expenses on consumed water:

  • “day-night” mode, implemented based on a real-time module;
  • “no owner” mode;
  • “water-saving” mode.

The system also includes:

  • water supply valve;
  • analog input and output pressure sensor;
  • check valve;
  • distribution fittings;
  • hydroaccumulator;
  • frequency converter, which is responsible for the pump motor's rotation frequency when the water pressure changes.

In this system, signals from the pressure sensors (input and output) are transmitted to the FC via an analog input module. The pressure control software is installed in the FC, allowing the system to operate autonomously without additional peripheral devices.

  • 3) Irrigation systems designed specifically for Russia provide maximum simplicity and convenience.

The system consists of a summer-type water pipeline laid along the plot. Water is supplied through electromagnetic valves to standard portable irrigation systems. To disconnect the system during the winter period, special valves are used. In this case, the electromagnetic valves can be controlled thanks to multichannel intelligent voltage regulators powered by the AC network.
