Description of the Delta Electronics VFD-VE Series

Device Description

The Delta VFD-VE series frequency converter is designed to regulate the speed of three-phase asynchronous motors with a power range from 0.75 to 75 kW and a short-circuited rotor. This device is capable of effectively addressing complex tasks related to speed, torque, and angular displacement regulation, performing the functions of a servomechanism. Advanced achievements of the designers at Delta Electronics are integrated into the VFD-VE series products, allowing them to occupy a leading position in the frequency converter segment.

Nominal power ranges:

  • when powered by three-phase voltage of 220 V: power from 0.75 to 37 kW;
  • when powered by three-phase voltage of 380 V: power from 0.75 to 75 kW;

Advantages and Features of VFD-VE Converters

  • Sensorless vector control (SVC) with speed regulation in the range of 1:100;
  • Vector control with feedback (FOC+PG) with speed regulation in the range of 1:1000;
  • Internal (up to 16 preset positions) and external angular positioning;
  • Direct torque control via feedback (Torque+PG);
  • Smooth pulse width modulation;
  • Automatic parameter identification mode for two motors and load inertia;
  • Electromagnetic brake control function;
  • Ability to switch the motor winding scheme between delta-star, 150% torque at 0 Hz;
  • Motor overheating control (based on PTC thermistor);
  • Built-in PID controller;
  • Automatic energy-saving function for pumping systems;
  • Control through a detachable control panel with a five-digit seven-segment display;
  • Stabilization of the converter output voltage with varying input voltage (AVR mode);
  • Automatic restart under specified conditions and smooth automatic return to the initial starting torque value with slip compensation;
  • Acceleration and deceleration curves adjustable at five points;
  • Automatic selection of the minimum acceleration and deceleration time.

Main Areas of Application

  • Lift and transport equipment: conveyors, elevators, hoists, escalators, cranes, and others;
  • Machine tools: presses, crimping machines, lathes, drilling machines, grinding machines, milling machines, and automated CNC lines;
  • Food industry: packing and packaging machines, semi-finished product production lines, mixers, and others.
