Description of the MX2 series

Compact Frequency Inverters OMRON MX2

The compact frequency inverters from OMRON's MX2 series are designed for use with manufacturing equipment. They are developed to effectively address various control tasks related to electric motors, modern industrial systems, and technological processes. Thanks to their quality construction and advanced control algorithms, the MX2 inverters ensure smooth motor control even at low speeds.

Main Features

  • Logical and accessible programming
  • Positioning
  • Speed synchronization

The inverters in this series can be easily integrated into any OMRON automated platform. The intuitive programming environment allows for the creation of programs up to a thousand lines, with the capability to execute five programs simultaneously. The operator has the ability to configure procedures that can be triggered according to specific tasks. Any necessary discrete and analog inputs or outputs of the device can be used for programming. Tasks can be modified using the operator panel or via a controller through the Modbus protocol. Programming can be implemented using flowchart language or a standard text editor. The engineer can choose the most suitable method for creating programs.

Application Areas

These frequency inverters can be used in various conditions and with different equipment. They are most commonly applied in situations where numerous inputs and outputs are needed. In particular, they are suitable for:

  • Industrial pumping systems and equipment
  • Ventilation systems
  • Conveyor equipment
  • Mixers
  • Lifts

In addition, these inverters are characterized by high starting torque parameters at 200% at 0.5 Hz. They feature different load modes: VT (120%) and CT (150%). The speed range of these inverters reaches 1000 Hz, and they can control both synchronous and asynchronous electric motors. Thanks to open-loop vector control, torque management is possible, and each device also has a positioning function.

Advantages

  • Equipped with application options for managing the braking process
  • Programming of the integrated programmable logic controller
  • Safety options comply with the ISO13849-1 standard
  • USB port for synchronization with a PC
  • Ability to power the control board from a 24V backup voltage
