Schneider Electric ATV21 series description

Device Description

The Altivar 21 frequency converter is designed to control the angular speed of rotation of the shafts of electric motors with a rated power of 0.75 to 75 kW. The device is powered from a three-phase electrical network with operating voltages of 220 V or 380 V.

These devices have found applications in various fields, including:

  • ventilation and air conditioning systems;
  • pumping stations;
  • heating networks.

The use of frequency converters leads to significant simplification and reduction of costs in the installation and subsequent maintenance of many systems, both in industrial and residential premises. The design of units based on the Altivar 21 frequency converter reduces electricity consumption and noise levels from operating devices.

In addition, the built-in electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) filters enhance the reliability of both the device itself and the entire system, reducing sensitivity to voltage fluctuations in the power supply network.

Frequency Converter Control

The configuration and monitoring of the operation parameters of the Altivar 21 converter are carried out via the built-in terminal. The device is equipped with a "Quick Menu" function, which allows:

  • direct access to the last changed parameters;
  • real-time monitoring of the parameters set by the manufacturer;
  • support for various user configurations.

Adjustment of the device's operating parameters is performed through the built-in Modbus protocol. To expand control capabilities, special communication cards can be additionally installed that allow the use of METASYS N2, BACnet, LonWorks, and APOGEE FLN protocols.
